What is your family situation?
I got married in December of 1992. We had 5 kids (4 boys and a girl, the youngest) and after 12 years my wife decided to leave the marriage, taking the kids with her. In the summer of 2006 she took the kids and moved back home to live with her parents in Safford, AZ. I struggled for many months with the question of how I could find enough work to keep my business going in a small rural town, but in the end I just had to throw all my concerns away and in the spring of 2007 I moved down to Safford to be where I needed to be for my kids. About 6 months later in Safford I met Danielle, whose husband had died the previous year in a tractor accident. They had also been married for 12 years but had never been able to have children. We hit it off very quickly and we were married in February of 2008. She has been a great source of peace and comfort in my life. You can hear more about this in my song 'Now Is The Time.'

I have always remained close to my kids, doing lots of fun things with them and spending one-on-one time with them each week since I moved to Arizona in the spring of 2007. In February of 2010, my second son (who was just turning 15) decided that he no longer wanted to have anything to do with me. I had no idea it was coming (just like the divorce) and it has been probably the most hurtful thing that has ever happened to me. Still, life goes on and I continue to have a very close relationship with my other 4 kids, none of whom understand what is wrong with their brother. We all hope and pray that he will come back someday. You can hear more about this in my songs 'Michael Come Home', 'Tiny Little Box' and 'Straw Man.'
