It would be my dream for groups to like this and perform it. If you do so, please tell me because it will make me happy and then I'll make more.
Recently I just have not been able to get this song out of my head. Every morning I wake up hearing it, so I decided to do something about it.
For the accompaniment, I tried to follow the original as closely as possible, combining ideas from several MIDI versions done by others.
Differences between this and the original:
- Dropped it a half-step from C# to C.
- Added SATB parts
- Original lyrics told a story about being happy in the past but lonely in the present. I changed it to be lonely in the past, happy in the present.
- Also modified the lyrics to take out the specific name of the girl, so that it can apply more generally and to either gender.
- Took off the original ending because I never liked it.
Symphony of silver tears,
Sung to me to soothe the ring in my ears,
Overcast, those gloomy nights wore on,
But I held on fast 'cause it's darkest just before the dawn.
And now at last I fall asleep,
'Cause you are my dream come true,
And I'm at peace, believe me, I cherish you.
And may those lonely lullabies,
Bring rest to my tired eyes,
Because I do believe you.
Because I do believe you.
I can rest when the rain pours in,
When the nightmares shake me,
I can sleep through the howling wind,
'Cause in a bitter world I have a dream.
(break)
Dizzy love turns the stars lily pink,
And hangs above our lids too flush to blink,
Icy blue, I came in from the cold,
Now I treasure you and you sparkle with someone to hold.
And now I sing you fast asleep,
'Cause you are my dream come true,
So be at peace, believe me, I love you.
And may my lonely lullabies,
Bring rest your tired eyes,
Because I do believe you.
Because I do believe in you.
You can rest when the rain pours in,
When the nightmares shake you,
You can sleep through the howling wind,
'Cause in a bitter world we have a dream.
I can rest when the rain pours in,
When the nightmares shake me,
I can sleep through the howling wind,
'Cause in a bitter world we have a dream.
We have a dream.
We have a dream.
We have a dream.
